My sons report card…

As parents, we become so invested in our children’s education, helping them with homework, studying with them, and of course, staying up late to finish that last-minute project due the next day.

When they were younger, my boys would be excited to rush home and share their report cards with us in anticipation of being rewarded for their excellent grades! The older they got, the less excited they were, and we had to really hassle them for those reports.

One semester my oldest tried to pull a fast one by not showing us his report card. We found out he was having a tough time in a class, but we had no idea before that report card! My wife and I made an extra effort to help him get back on track with additional reporting from the teacher. He turned it around by the next time grades were posted. The point is, we had no idea what was going on without that reporting!
